Please read the guidelines below and follow the instructions to upgrade AppsWatch.
Besides minor updates, there are also major release upgrades; upgrading will provide access to all the new features and improvements.
To upgrade AppsWatch Base and ScenarioStation(s):
1. Before upgrading AppsWatch, review the Release Notes as they may contain important information about changes in functionality with the latest release.
2. Backup the current AppsWatch data
To back up the data, first stop the two AppsWatch Services: AppsWatch Scheduler, and AppsWatch WebServer. Next, zip up the folder “data” under “…\NrgGlobal\AppsWatch\” folder. Then restart the AppsWatch services.
Important: AppsWatch does not support downgrade between major/minor releases. It is strongly recommended to back up your data before any upgrade.
3. Check your license keys
When upgrading between major versions (e.g., from 220.127.116.11 to 18.104.22.168 where the first two numbers are different), you do require a new license. To request a new license, please contact NRGGlobal Support team.
If the modules are already installed on your environment, you can also upgrade them by logging in to the AppsWatch Base and then clicking Upgrade Available button on the navigation pane.
If there is no upgrade available for your installed module, you will not see any notification. If there is upgrade available, you can download and install it by clicking Yes button as seen in the image below.
Note: If the AppsWatch Base does not have the latest updates of the current version, you will not see the Upgrade Available button.
5. Put the AppsWatch new license file under “…\NrgGlobal\AppsWatch\license\” folder and the ScenarioStation new license file under “…\NrgGlobal\ScenarioStation\license\” folder.
6. Install all the necessary modules wherever needed.
Tip: To view installation steps, please refer to the AppsWatch Installation Guide document.
Important: Please make sure to do the upgrade process for the ScenarioStation(s) as well. The AppsWatch Base and the ScenarioStation(s) must have the same major X.X version.
*By using the term “Module”, here we mean AppsWatch Base and ScenarioStation modules.
